Built for the Mats
The SPARS Men's BJJ KATAKANA Long-Sleeve Rash Guard is a Japanese-designed Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu rash guard built for regular training.
Smooth 4-way stretch fabric moves with you through drilling, positional work, and rolling, helps manage moisture, and layers cleanly under the gi. Made for the hours you actually put in on the mats.
The Design
The SPARS BJJ KATAKANA chest design pairs bold off-white 「ジュウジュツ」 — the Japanese katakana rendering of “Jiu-Jitsu” — with BJJ on the chest, hand-drawn in the manga lettering tradition rather than typeset in a standard font.
The characters are deliberately off-balance: tilted, with some strokes stretched far beyond their normal length. Kuzushi (崩し) is the grappling principle of disrupting an opponent's balance to create an opening. Here, that same idea is applied to the letterforms themselves.
Off-balance, yet unmistakable.
On the back, the SPARS logo and wordmark sit centered below the collar for a clean, restrained finish.
The Fit
A fitted athletic cut with raglan sleeves that extend to the collar, creating diagonal seams that support natural shoulder movement during grappling.
The body and sleeves are cut longer than a standard tee to provide additional coverage and help the garment stay in place when you're moving, scrambling, or training under a gi. Flat seams and coverstitch construction help keep the interior smooth against the skin.
Available in XS through 3XL.
This item runs small. If your measurements fall between sizes, or if you prefer a slightly less compressive fit, we recommend sizing up.
Iron Black — Tetsuguro
Finished in Iron Black — Tetsuguro (鉄黒) with the BJJ KATAKANA chest design and SPARS back lockup in off-white.
The design is produced using all-over sublimation, which dyes the artwork into the fabric rather than applying it as a surface layer. This helps avoid the cracking and peeling associated with surface-applied graphics while maintaining the smooth feel of the garment.
Made for the BJJ Life
For hobbyists, coaches, gi practitioners, no-gi grapplers, and competitors.
Built for regular training sessions, drilling, rolling, and open mat, and cut to wear comfortably under the gi.
This rash guard is intended for training use rather than competition. Its color and design may not meet competition uniform requirements. Always check the rules of your specific organization or event before competing.
